Border News: She’s a Real Mother

Here’s my latest.  A dark short story of 6500 words.

SMALLMy protagonist, Rocky, a disabled Marine Sergeant works as a professional hitter.  He’s reluctantly agreed to locate his best friend’s aunt Moya, a powerful curandera.  His friend, Hector says, that he would try to locate aunt Moya, but he’s busy at work.  Rocky guesses that Hector is not telling him everything and suggests that he might be timid.  Hector admits she makes him nervous.

Rocky gets a cryptic warning from Hector yet agrees to search to find Moya, who lives in a mysterious canyon where local Indians are afraid to enter.  Helping Hector takes Rocky into a web of danger with a strange woman who nurse’s wild creatures back to health and whose weird desires could permanently end Rocky’s search.

My name is Wally Runnels and I write Border Pulp.

  • Do you mind if I quote a couple of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your webpage? My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my users would really benefit from some of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this alright with you. Thank you!

  • Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same results.
